Protective System Modular Clothing System (MBAS)

Subject and scope of the contract :  The Protective system 18 is part of the equipment of the members of the Swiss armed forces and provides effective protection for them when they exercise functional tasks and deployments at home and abroad in the minimum configuration (only soft ballistics) against handguns and fragments. It comprises a protective vest, collar, hip belt and groin guard.

The contract is awarded to three providers (multiple award). A framework agreement will be concluded with them for five years. The ranking was based on the result of the evaluation of all award criteria of the present tender (sum of the achieved score from the award criteria quality & price) for the entire contract period as well as options.

The cost ceiling is the highest price offer of the three successful bidders (CHF 32,100,000.00, excluding VAT). This includes the quantity structure (contract term 5 years, with optional extension by 2 years plus 2 further years) according to the published tender documents.
