2.4 Subject and scope of the contract

The purpose of this RFI is to provide Swisstopo with an overview of the current range of ETL tools for geodata. It is in the interest of Swisstopo to look for alternative standard software solutions on the market, which fulfill the functional range and the possibilities of the currently used software FME (safe software) equally or can offer additional functions and possibilities.
This RFI invites vendors and suppliers to participate in this RFI and to present their ETL tool for geospatial data. Should the need for an ETL tool for Geospatial Data become more precise, Swisstopo reserves the right to initiate the necessary steps for an appropriate procurement. The analysis of the submitted non-binding offers may serve as source of information in this step.

3.1 General conditions of participation

This RFI is intended solely for the purpose of gathering information and planning for possible further phases. This document should not be understood as a Request For Quotation (RFQ) or Request For Proposal (RFP), nor as an assurance that such will be carried out. Swisstopo is not interested in specific offers at this stage and will not consider such unsolicited offers in this process. Furthermore, the RFI does not in any way commit Swisstopo to a specific commission or procurement. Swisstopo will not pay any compensation for responding to this RFI or for the related expenses and for the documents provided by the companies. Participation and submission of a response is voluntary and non-binding. Participation in this RFI does not lead to a preliminary referral for a later tender, nor does non-participation lead to exclusion from a later tender procedure.
