The subject of this tender is a low-temperature (<7K), ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) scanning probe mi-croscope system with high numeric aperture optical access. The system facilitates state-of-the-art scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and tuning fork based noncontact atomic force microscopy (nc-AFM). The system will be combined with an optical setup (not part of this tender) to detect time-resolved electron tunneling using phase-stable, single-cycle THz pulses to explore ultrafast pro-cesses at atomic resolution.
