PostBus is currently reviewing the system landscape for planning and dispatching systems and to what extent they correspond to future requirements and technological developments. The focus is on service planning and service production. New, flexible product models (on demand) and fleet electrification create new requirements.
PostBus operates on 993 routes with 11,500 stops. 135 million passengers a year are transported by 2,370 vehicles. Various bus types from different manufacturers are used to cover 132 million kilometres from 180 depots.
Together with its partners, PostBus provides various types of transport services: •Public transport services (regional passenger transport, local transport, tourist transport) •Additional business (replacement services, school transport with individual timetables for students and schools, charter trips and other)
These services are both traditionally planned and increasingly offered as on-demand services. In addition, 100 electric buses will be in use by 2024, and all Postbuses are expected to be fossil-free by 2040.
Further information on the broad requirements and the system environment is described in a separate annexe (Annexe 1, Broad requirements and peripheral systems)
With this RFI, PostBus would like to obtain an up-to-date market overview and clarify which solutions exist on the market and how providers will deal with future requirements. This will serve among other things as the basis of assessing whether enhancements to the existing systems are possible and make sense or whether a completely new system should be considered. An overall replacement would be possible from 2026 at the earliest; the introduction of enhancements should be possible earlier.
Questions about the RFI must be submitted directly on the simap.ch tender platform by 31 January 2023 at the latest. No information will be provided verbal or over the phone. Questions will be answered on 3 February 2023 directly in the question forum on the simap.ch tendering platform. Any questions received after this deadline will not be answered. The completed RFI document must be returned to the following e-mail address in Excel format: beschaffungpa@postauto.ch
Due to the applicable procurement law directives, PostBus reserves the right to make the findings from this RFI available to all tenderers in the event of a public tender.
