2.4 Subject and scope of the contract
- As part of its legal mandate, swisstopo produces topographic landscape models (TLMs), elevation models, geological datasets and other derived products. The 3D and 2D landscape models and the elevation models form the most important data-base for the production of all the national Swiss maps. 3D screens are used by swisstopo operators to produce the TLM and elevation models.
The aim of this Request for Information (RFI) is to obtain market information on the possible procurement of 3D monitors. The RFI is intended to clarify the questions in the corresponding catalogue of questions, in particular which companies have proven experience.

4.6 Additional information- This publication is not an invitation to tender, but a request for information (RFI) in advance of a possible subsequent invitation to tender. The contracting authority does not assume any obligations towards the information provider with this RFI. Participation in this RFI is voluntary and will not provide the participant with any advantages for any subsequent public invitation to tender.
This RFI is completely separate from any invitation to tender that may be issued at a later date.
The market clarification findings will be disclosed in the documentation for a subsequent public invitation to tender, in particular for compliance with the requirements of public procurement law (especially the principles of equal treatment and transparency).
At present, the requesting/awarding office is not interested in concrete offers and will not consider unsolicited offers. The RFI does not oblige the requesting/awarding office in any way to place a concrete order or conduct a procurement.
Companies are expressly advised that the requesting/awarding office will not pay any compensation for responding to this RFI or for associated expenses and the documents provided by companies in this context. Companies will have to bear the related costs themselves. Participation and submission of a response are voluntary and non-binding.
Non-participation in this RFI will not result in exclusion from any invitation to tender.
Participation in this RFI will not lead to prior involvement for a potential invitation to tender.
No non-disclosure agreements will be signed by the requesting/awarding office.
