3.3 Reasons for the decision to award- Reasons: Due to the cardiac alliance with the University Hospital Zurich (USZ), the same cardiotechnicians will operate the cardiopulmonary machine and, in the interests of optimal patient care and risk minimization, the same models as at the USZ are absolutely essential.
This means that only one provider is eligible for the contract award, and the contract will therefore be awarded by private treaty in accordance with Art. 21 para. 2 c and e of the Intercantonal Agreement on Public Procurement [sGS 841.51].
